Alibaba Helps American Small Businesses Sell Globally

By selling on Alibaba’s online marketplace, U.S. small businesses are helping to drive the American economy. In 2024, emerging brands—such as DS Labs, Timeless Skin Care, and Timberwolf Pet Food—sold more than $6.1 billion in products on the platform. In New Jersey, Phyto-C Skin Care built a new 27,000-square-foot manufacturing plant and hired additional local workers to help keep up with the global demand generated by Alibaba.

Growing American Communities

“Our partnership (with Alibaba) has helped us hire more employees and
open a new manufacturing facility in Texas,” said Veronica Pedersen, CEO of Timeless Skincare. The Texas-based cosmetics company is among the
thousands of American businesses, big and small, selling on Alibaba.
These sales have a positive impact on communities across the United States.

U.S. small and medium-sized businesses can create virtual storefronts on Alibaba’s online marketplace to sell their products globally. In addition, Alibaba eliminates the barriers that have made it challenging for companies to do business abroad, including logistics support, translation services, and inventory management. Accio is an AI-powered sourcing platform that connects American businesses with manufacturers worldwide. By making global sourcing more accessible, the platform significantly shortens the time it takes American entrepreneurs to go from product idea to market launch. In addition to streamlining product sourcing, Accio helps business leaders conduct market and product research. For example, a toy manufacturer could ask, “What are the top-selling toys for kids from the past month?” to inform their product development and marketing strategies. Learn more.

U.S. businesses can rest assured that Alibaba is committed to protecting intellectual property. Alibaba’s IP protection program uses ever-improving technologies and close partnerships with brands, law enforcement, and other IP stakeholders to deliver best-in-class brand protection. Learn more.
