  • Baby and Maternity: baby care, maternity cosmetics/skincare, probiotics, toys, kids apparel and shoes, afterschool activity gear
  • Home: home fragrance, gadgets, musical instruments

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to work with the Tmall Global U.S. business development team for global market opportunity evaluation and consultation.
  • Selected brands will be eligible to participate in Alibaba’s 2021 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, after being fast-tracked and launched on Tmall Global under the Overseas Fulfillment program.
  • Selected brands will receive additional marketing advice and tools to boost exposure and awareness in the lead up to 11.11, such as being featured in a dedicated livestreaming session.

General Criteria for Entry:

  • Must be e-commerce ready, with a unique UPC on each product as well as product images and detailed product descriptions
  • Must have a unique product selling point or brand story
  • Must have dedicated personnel to work with the Tmall Global team for setup and selling
  • Must have reasonable wholesale costs to support marketing and promotions

Timeline: 

  • June 8, 2021: Application period opens
  • August 6, 2021: Deadline for submissions (Selected brands will be contacted by the Tmall Global team by August 13)
  • August–September 2021: Tmall Global team fast-tracks the launch of selected brands
  • October 2021: Selected brands send inventory to a Tmall Global warehouse in either New York or Los Angeles
  • Mid–late October 2021: Selected brands participate in promotional campaigns to generate brand awareness and excitement ahead of 11.11
  • November 1–11, 2021: Selected brands participating in 11.11 will receive additional resources and exposure

About Overseas Fulfillment:

Tmall Global’s Overseas Fulfillment program allows brands to place their products in a U.S. warehouse for sale on Alibaba’s cross-border B2C platform. The program gives brands a low-cost, low-risk way to assess the China market before making a full-fledged entry into the country. As part of the Overseas Fulfillment solution, the Tmall Global team provides brands with marketing advice and tools to help boost brand awareness. Analytics generated from the platform, such as sales performance and consumer insights, can help brands make more informed decisions about their China strategy.

The Overseas Fulfillment program is a consignment model that fulfills orders for Chinese consumers directly from a warehouse in either Los Angeles or New York. It can provide brands with more inventory flexibility and lower logistics and storage costs.
